FOLDFOLD × TAKEO
Three animated scenes made with TAKEO, a Japanese paper company, for the exhibition FOLDFOLD at BO/OK, Nara.

The idea was to give each scene one paper, chosen for its own texture, weight, and color, and let that paper carry the whole scene: Earth, Ocean, City.

Earth — NT Rasha Dark Brown, 130kg 
Ocean — Shin Danshi Hanada, 160kg 
City — Sagan GA, 130kg

Each scene started as paper props, then a test shoot, before the final animation: about 50 frames per scene, folded, cut, built into three-dimensional forms, and shot frame by frame in the studio.

In the exhibition, the film is shown alongside the original paper props used to make it.
TAKEO Paper has been an essential material for me for many years. This time, it became the subject.
