KIKOF
Inspired by folded paper, resulting in clean lines and a soft, structured form. Crafted using traditional techniques and materials from the Lake Biwa region, the brand blends heritage craftsmanship with a contemporary aesthetic. Established in 2014 by design studio KIGI in collaboration with local artisans, KIKOF was launched as part of the OFS project.
When I heard it, the animation idea came to me instantly. I drew unfolded mock-ups for Tokkuri and Choko V and animated the folding paper.
折り紙からインスピレーションを得たブランドで、すっきりとしたラインとやわらかく構造的なフォルムが特徴です。琵琶湖周辺の伝統的な技術と素材を使い、伝統工芸と現代的な美意識を融合させています。2014年にデザインスタジオKIGIと地元の職人が協力して立ち上げられ、OFSプロジェクトの一環として展開されています。
この話を聞いたとき、アニメーションのアイデアがすぐに浮かびました。徳利や猪口Vの展開図を描き、折り紙の動きをアニメーション化しました。
